02 — CLINICAL BOUNDARIES
Information — Not Counseling or Medical Advice
Website content is provided for general educational and informational purposes.
It is not counseling, medical advice, psychiatric care, crisis intervention, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan.
The information on this website should not replace individualized care from a qualified healthcare or mental health professional who understands your circumstances. Do not disregard or delay professional care because of something you read on this website.
1
No counselor-client relationship
Viewing this website, downloading a resource, sending a message, completing a contact form, joining an email list, requesting a consultation, or interacting with Milton’s Place Counseling online does not create a counselor-client relationship.
2
No Guaranteed Outcome
People respond to counseling differently. Milton’s Place Counseling does not promise or guarantee a specific diagnosis, recommendation, treatment result, symptom reduction, insurance determination, or other outcome.
Nothing on this website guarantees that Milton’s Place Counseling will be an appropriate clinical fit for a particular person or concern.
3
Licensure, Location, and Service Availability
Counseling may be provided only when the client is physically located in a state where the treating clinician is legally authorized to practice at the time of service.
Milton’s Place Counseling currently provides telehealth services to eligible clients located in Michigan, Minnesota, Idaho, Iowa, Arizona, and Ohio. Availability may vary based on clinician licensure, scheduling, insurance participation, clinical needs, age, service requested, and overall fit.
Information on this website does not guarantee that a particular service is legally or clinically available in every location.
4
Establishment of counselor-client relationship
A counselor-client relationship begins only after:
-
Milton’s Place Counseling and the prospective client mutually agree to begin services
-
The clinician determines that the requested services are clinically appropriate and within the clinician’s professional scope
-
Required intake and informed-consent documents are completed
-
Any applicable payment or insurance arrangements are addressed
-
An initial counseling appointment is confirmed
Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee acceptance as a client.
03 — CONTACT, CONSULTATIONS, AND SCHEDULING
Messages, Consultations, and Electronic Communication
Contact Forms and Email
Website forms and regular email should be used only for routine, non-urgent communication. Please do not include detailed clinical information, medical records, Social Security numbers, payment-card information, or other highly sensitive information unless you are using a secure communication method approved by the practice.
Although Milton’s Place takes reasonable precautions, website and email communications may not be completely secure.
Electronic Messages
Electronic messages may not be reviewed immediately.
Sending a message does not confirm that:
-
The message was received or reviewed
-
An appointment has been scheduled
-
Insurance coverage has been verified
-
Services have been accepted or approved
-
A counselor-client relationship has begun
Consultations
A free consultation is an opportunity to briefly discuss your needs, ask general questions, and explore whether Milton’s Place Counseling may be an appropriate fit.
A consultation is not a counseling session, diagnostic evaluation, crisis assessment, or guarantee that services will be offered.
Although Milton’s Place takes reasonable precautions, website and email communications may not be completely secure.
Appointments and Practice Policies
Appointment availability, fees, payment expectations, insurance participation, cancellation requirements, telehealth procedures, communication boundaries, and clinical policies are explained separately before counseling begins.
Information displayed on the website may change. Prospective clients should confirm current availability, fees, insurance participation, and service details directly with Milton’s Place Counseling.

If any portion of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that portion will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary. The remaining terms will continue to apply.
